Латвию на конкурсе Евровидение 2014 представляют Aarzemnieki с песней Cake to Bake (Торт испечь).

Группа Aarzemnieki была неофициально основана в 2011 году двумя иностранцами: немцем Йораном Штейнхауэром, в идеале овладевшим латышским языком, и англичанином Ником Масси.

Йоран Штейнхауэр родился в городе Виттен, а попал в Латвию по обмену – в 2005 году он приехал в город Талси и был очарован Латвием. Спустя время он работал волонтером в детском центре и немецкой церкви в Риге.

В 2007 году Йоран решил принять участие в отборочном туре Евровидения с песне More than 27. Однако тогда попытка попасть на конкурс успехом не увенчалась.

Овладев в достаточной мере латышским языком, Штейнхауэр начал писать песни на нем. Первой заметной композицией авторства творческого немца стала песня Paldies Latinam!, которую он и спел с британцем Ником Масси. Трек стал очень популярен в Латвии, и на канале Youtube в первую же неделю его посмотрело 100 000 человек.

Также в состав группы входит скрипачка Катрина Диманта, барабанщик Райтис Вилюмовс и пианист Гунтис Вейландс.
